Anaheim Packing House

On our way to a Chef Battle in Costa Mesa,
we made a detour to check out the fairly new
Anaheim Packing House, opened on May 31, 2014.

A beautiful area just outside of the East door

Only problem...too many good places to try

Unique spaces just downstairs from the parking lot

So, what is the Anaheim Packing House?

I don't think I could say it any better...

A very cool, unique space that isn't a food court
or mall, but a casual place filled with food vendors.

Upstairs at the Hammer Workshop and Bar

There's additional seating outside on the South side,
near Orange Tei,
unique seating on two railroad flatbed cars.

The line at Pop Bar caught my eye
and it looked really good too.

Just don't call it a popsicle!

First choose the flavor you want, including sorbet.

I hate too many good choices

Next, you have a choice of dippings and toppings.

You can have a full dip, half a dip, or drizzle.

I went for the FULL DIP,
as today was National Milk Chocolate Day!

My choice, Peanut Butter with Milk Chocolate
and hazel nuts.

And "Hot Chocolate on a Stick"

Warm milk with a piece of dark chocolate on a stick
and you stir until it's the right flavoring you want.

It's chocolate, nuff said...

See What Jay Eats...

You've got chocolate on my peanut butter...

Regardless, it's Mmmmmm

Each food vendor has a unique space, not like the typical
food court where they all look alike.

We're on our way to a chef competition
at Scott's Restaurant,
so didn't really want to eat (besides Pop Bar),
until I saw this...

The "Pork of July!" caught my eye

 Geez, had to order something...

Just do a great grilled cheese sandwich,
no frills, just a good product!

This was a really good grilled cheese...

The Fish and Chips at The Chippy
looked really good.

But on our way to a chef's competition,
so keep moving.

Other places I want to try:

The Kroft:  Their poutine looks amazing
The Chippy:  Fish and Chips

It will have to wait for another time...

Parking is limited,
but there are other parking lots you can use.

I'll have to checkout the rest of the Packing District soon.

Now it's on to Scott's Restaurant in Costa Mesa
for the Chef Battle Albacore
