New Menu 1/2 1/2 1/2 is no longer available Ton Chan Ramen's Lunch Special Having heard me talk about Ton Chan Ramen, my biz partner @ Rhinofishfood wanted to meet up for lunch and try their famous tonkotsu ramen. On my first visit, I noticed the lunch specials, see my first visit ( Ramen Monday ) with Doreen Fang . The 1/2 Ramen, 1/2 Fried Rice, and 1/2 Karaage Chicken stuck in my mind. So today, while Jeff Nitta had the Hakata Shio Ramen with 1/2 Fried Rice, I opted for the 1/2, 1/2, 1/2... 1/2 Tokyo Shoyu Ramen 1/2 Fried Rice 1/2 Karaage Chicken served with corn, broccoli, carrots, and potato salad AND Mango Custard for dessert Everything was well cooked and tasted great. This is a place that I would definitely come back to... They'll probably see me on September 4th for the Ramen Speed Eating Contest. Tommy Lasorda? Yes, Los Angeles Dodger Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda is Cantonese. Who knew? Let me explain... My friend tells me that her cousin worked at Paul's Kitchen in the 80's and would make deliveries to Dodger Stadium on a regular basis, Tommy Lasorda is a fan of their food.  So the restaurant named a special after him.  I've heard that he still visits the restaurant on a regular basis.   You can see autographed pictures of the Dodgers on the walls... Paul's Kitchen Downtown Los Angeles Old Skool Chinese Food When I was growing up in Los Angeles, there were lots of Cantonese style restaurants and today you don't see too many. Back then, Paul's Kitchen was a place that we picked up food from, still tastes the same today... See What Jay Eats... Top of the Menu Not a bad deal for $12.25 per person (for two) Good amount of food too... NOTE:  The price has gone up and now is $12.25 per person, still...
