Happy Anniversary Tatsunoya Ramen - Pasadena

Image
Last year about this time, actually December 23, 2015, a new ramen restaurant opened in Pasadena.  Happy 1st Anniversary! Ramen Tatsunoya on Fair Oaks Ave, just North of Colorado Blvd. If you don't remember my post from last year's opening, read  HERE   See What Jay Eats... Seaweed Chashu Wraps Great texture, the chashu (pork) was a bit over done for my liking, and had a nice kick. A good side dish Koku Tonkotsu Ramen Rich pork broth with a dash of spicy miso I love a good tonkotsu (pork broth) and this one is one of my favorites. Or maybe I like it cause it comes with thin noodles... I would've had another noodle, except I was at Smorgasburg earlier in the day. As gift to celebrate their anniversary, Ramen Tatsunoya gave a spoon to all if their guests Ramen Tatsunoya 16 N Fair Oaks Avenue Pasadena, CA  91103 (626) 432-1768 Arigato! Tomoko Imade Dyen Mi...

Image
I've been to Jinya Ramen Bar in Studio City a few times and recently visited their Hollywood and Highland location. See my Hollywood Food Tour HERE When my food friend, Kristie Hang , invites you to a special ramen lunch at Jinya Ramen Bar in Studio City,  you don't just go, you run!  Reason being, this special ramen lunch, involves black truffles. Jinya's founder Tomonori Takahashi is testing brothless menu items. One of them being the Truffle Splash. This limited edition, only 10 bowls per day, is only available in Studio City for a limited time.  Besides the shaved black truffle, the Truffle Splash includes pork chashu, Brussels sprouts, onion, cheese, and half a raw egg with thick noodles. ...

Pasadena - Tatsunoya Ramen

Image
Welcome to Pasadena!  If you love ramen and are in the San Gabriel Valley, you need to checkout Tatsunoya Ramen on Fair Oaks in Pasadena.  Just one block North of Colorado Blvd in Old Pasadena.   Tatsunoya Ramen is from Japan and this is their first U.S. location. I'm glad that this Japanese company didn't open in an area with other ramen restaurants, such as West Los Angeles (Sawtelle Blvd) or the South Bay (Torrance/Gardena). Those areas are over-staurated with ramen places. I became aware of Tatsunoya Ramen at the March 2014 Ramen Yokocho  I was able to sample their tonkotsu ramen and remembered that I really enjoyed this one from the Ramen Yokocho Festival. Want to see more of the Ramen Yokocho Festival, click HERE for March 2014 at Santa Anita Park September 2013 Ramen Yokocho Festival in Torrance, click HERE See What Jay Eats...  Tatsunoya Roll with pork chashu We ...
