Pink Taco Truck (New)

You might have seen the Pink Taco Truck L.A. around town at various events. Not your typical taco truck, using local and farm-fresh ingredients. I was invited to the media preview at the Pink Taco restaurant on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. They had their taco truck parked outside. Pink Taco Truck LA aka "The L.A. Woman" You probably remember the song, "L.A. Woman" by the Doors. Did I just show my age??? Tonight's Menu on the 32" monitor at the back of the truck With a lot of goodies to try, and since I'm a taco guy, it had to be a taco order. Okamoto Kitchen - Japanese Comfort Food on Wheels

Not your typical Japanese food truck, some common Japanese comfort food with some lesser known dishes added in. Chef Chizuru (Okamoto) and Gerald Abraham have created this Japanese mobile menu. I met the folks of Okamoto Kitchen at the September 626 Night Market  at Santa Anita Park. Since I was busy working, I only had time to try their Green Tea Parfait, which was really good. GD Bro Burger in Santa Ana - Grand Opening!

GD Bro Burger finds parking in Santa Ana, let me explain... You may have recognized the name from Food Network's "The Great Food Truck Race"  (Season 6)  They found a place to park the food truck and opened their first brick and mortar in Santa Ana. I was lucky to get a sneak peak before their August 29, 2015,  Grand Opening. After walking in the door, Patty Girth Matters! Looking forward to a stuffed burger. See What Jay Eats... It All Began Here... If you're a follower of gourmet food trucks, I'm sure you've heard of Chef Roy Choi and the Kogi Truck. The gourmet food truck trend and social media phenomenon began with the Kogi truck.  Not only did they create a new food category, but also a new menu items not seen before. Chef Roy Choi said that his food tastes like L.A. If you think about creating menu items that represent Los Angeles and it's food culture, Chef Roy hit it right  on the head.  A taco which has a Korean short-rib filling and served with a Mexican/Asian sauce.   They began with one truck and Twitter back in 2008. It's time for 626 Night Market at the OC Fair and Event Center I'm looking forward to seeing friends, good food, entertainment, and... WAIT! We're in Orange County? OK, I feel better now... We got here early and had a chance to walk around.   This is a huge area with lots and lots of food It answers that typical food questions heard at this type of event: What do you want to eat? Well, what do YOU want? OK, what do they have? There's something here for everyone. See What Jay Eats...
