True Food Kitchen - Spring 2017 Menu

The Pasadena location opened on  September 13, 2016. Since then, I've been three times . See Pre-Opening HERE I'm back again to sample the Spring 2017 menu. Hangover Rx and Medicine Man, both are non-alcoholic. Hangover Rx with pineapple, orange, honey, and coconut water. Medicine Man triple-brewed black tea, blueberry, pomegranate, honey, and sea buckthorn.   See What Jay Eats... New Spring 2017 Menu Items Torched Avocado (vegetarian) We started out the evening with this dish, with cucumber noodle, mushroom, snap pea, radish, sesame, and turmeric ponzu. Roasted Artichoke Pizza (vegan) with sugar snap pea, smoked onion, roasted garlic, vegan salmon ricotta, black truffle. Wild Mushroom Pizza with asparagus, roasted garlic, and Taleggio cheese. Hollywood Food Tour - May 2016

I was fortunate to again be invited to join a walking food tour through Hollywood. This tour includes some places I haven't been yet and a couple of new restaurants  that have opened recently. See the Hollywood Foodie Tour 2015 HERE See What Jay Eats... We met up at Demitasse Roastery and Kitchen for some Strawberry Ginger Lattes as other food writers, bloggers, and influencers arrive. A Kombucha Dog Raspberry and the Strawberry Gazpacho. The Strawberry Gazpacho with a crispy Jamon Serrano, a quail egg, and croutons. Chef Brian Huskey's New Beachside Shack

One thing that I love (but not always have time)  is going to the beach, even if it's to sit and watch the waves. But now I have another reason... Top Chef fans probably remember Chef Brian Huskey from Season 11 (New Orleans). Los Angeles diners may know him from restaurants such as Picca, Mochica, and Paiche. Regardless, I got a sneak peak tasting of his latest venture, Tackle Box (at the beach). See What Jay Eats...  Shrimp Sandwich with Romaine on a squid ink roll (this was a tasting size sandwich) The shrimp sandwich was fresh with crunchy lettuce, a good sandwich for a day at the beach. The house chips with seasoned salt were really good too. Salmon Poke with avocado, crispy rice and citrus dressing.
