Kailua: One Night at Prima

During my trip to Honolulu for the Hawai'i Food and Wine Festival , one of the places I wanted to return to was Prima in Kailua for some modern Italian.  Only open for about a year, Prima is that casual place that has great food. A few of us took a break from the festival food and stopped in for dinner. See What Jay Eats...  While looking over the menu and specials board, we enjoyed the fresh bread. From Farm to Table: A Sustainable Hawaii Event

Last year I attended the Hawai'i Food and Wine Festival event at the Hilton Hawaiian Village .  Besides all of the great food, I knew that the proceeds went to non-profit food and culinary organizations in Hawaii and was looking forward to this year... Day 3 of the festival and today's "Signature Event" is largest event attended.  The highlight is to showcase Hawaii's sustainable story, as well as, the many celebrity chefs who are active in the "farm to table" movement.        See What Jay Eats... Cuisines of the Stars: A Magical Journey of Food and Culture

After four fun food-filled days, I arrived at the Ko Olina Resort for the final Hawai'i Food and Wine Festival event.  After two nights of wonderful tasting events, I had the option to dine at another venue, but I chose to attend this event.  Since about half of the participating chefs were from Southern California, I had to represent.   Entering the event through Aulani A Disney Resort & Spa Mickey didn't recognize me last time I was here, but that's another story... lol The event was held on the beach at the Ko Olina Resort.
