Hawaii: The Bounty of He'eia II

Kamehameha Schools  Presents "The Bounty of He'eia", an excursion of the  Hawai'i Food and Wine Festival .   We've moved up the mauka (mountain) to Papahana Kuaola, near the top of the He'eia ahupua'a of O'ahu .   This is a continuation of " The Bounty of He'eia" Part I at Paepae o He'eia, see Part 1 .  We spent the morning at the He'eia Fishpond at the makai (ocean) and now we are on the mauka side of the He'eia ahupua'a.   Arriving at Papahana Kuaola , the non-profit arm of  Hui Kū Maoli Ola , a Native Hawaiian plant nursery. Aloha! Rick Barboza explaining the Papahana Kuaola grounds and the future of the native Hawaiian plant  population for generations to come. I met Rick at a media dinner in Los Angeles about a year and a half ago.  He talked about the  native plants and the health of the Hawaiian  ecosystem.    I'm fortunate that "The Bounty of He'eia" ...
