Smorgasburg Los Angeles - Week 10

Sunday, August 21st was a special

Barbecue Day!

If you follow me, you know I love good BBQ
and would spend all of my free time in Central Texas.
See my last BBQ adventure HERE

"It is better to have burnt and lost,
then never to have barbecued at all."
~ William Shakespeare

Upon arrival, I had to decide what to start with...

See What Jay Eats...

Of course my first stop is always Todo Verde for
an agua fresca.  Today I had the Naranjada.

With orange, orange blossom water, chia seeds,
and maple syrup.  It was refreshing and kept me hydrated.

While talking to a couple of vendor friends,
they introduced me to Henry of Yellow Business.

They make Hong Kong Egg Waffles over charcoal.

Henry suggested that I try the Matcha Green Tea version.

Since they make the waffles over charcoal,
I noticed that the waffle was crispier than
the ones made from an electric waffle iron.

Yellow Business was at SmorgasburgLA
on this one day, hope they'll be back.

Otherwise, you can follow them on Facebook
for upcoming events HERE

A behind-the-scenes look special BBQ vendor,
Barrel and Ashes from Studio City.

Enjoyed their spare ribs...

I love Ichicoro for their CuBaoNo,
but today, their special BBQ item
was a Ramen "Macked" Cheese.
Their version of a mac-n-cheese to go with BBQ.

With 5 different cheeses, bacon, furikake, panko,
and mixed with their signature recipe ramen noodles.

 Another special BBQ vendor,
Stoked! California BBQ, a Santa Maria style Tri-Tip.

Stoked!  Tri-Tip Sandwich
with thin sliced Santa Maria Tri-Tip layered
on cheesy garlic butter bread and topped
with #Stoked sauce with a side of greens.

Just a bit too much sauce for me,
over-powered the taste of the tri-tip.
Otherwise, a good sandwich.

The Mint Tea with Strawberry slush

With a variety of all natural fruit slush flavors,
I was told I need to try the Tea + Melon Basil
next time...

What's a BBQ without Johnny
on the Lobsterdamus' grill?

Have you had a grilled lobster yet?

Of course I had to have pie from Rucker's Pie.

Nicole had my favorite today,
a Frozen Key Lime Pie!

How does one end a food-filled Sunday Funday?

With tacos from TJs Tacos of course!

I love their Vietnamese-style street tacos
and I opted for the chicken and beef taco.

If you like tacos and Asian flavors,
then you need to try TJs Tacos at SmorgasburgLA.

Next Sunday is KCRW Pie Day
at Smorgasburg Los Angeles.

See you on August 28th!
