Best Tacos in New York City!



Each time I'm in NYC, someone always mentions 
a good place for Mexican food or tacos.  
I have to admit, I'm Always disappointed.

A couple of people told us to checkout the taco place
at Chelsea Market, they're the best in NYC.
I had to take notice, since one person
was from Southern California.

 
While touring Chelsea Market and having our fill of oysters,
we saw the "Bienvenidos" (Welcome)
and had to try a taco.

 A pollo (chicken) and asada (steak) tacos with everything,
topped with avocado sauce.

You have a choice of corn or flour tortillas.
Like there's a choice with good tacos...
(corn of course!)

Yup, the best tacos I've had in NYC!

But really didn't need anything else. 


 Quesadilla with pork.

This was more like an empanada.

Wasn't too impressed with it,
stick to the tacos.


Yup, we're in NYC,
No LA prices here...

If I was living in NYC, I'd be here ALL the time!

Epilogue
Of course I saw that after I got back from NYC.
Evidently, Los Tacos No.1 has an Off-Menu item.

Hidden Little Tokyo: Cheap Eats

I usually take the Metro Gold Line to Downtown Los Angeles.  Traffic is usually bad and then I have no idea where to park.  Although some of my friends who know I'm downtown a lot, think I know where all the places to park, this is why I take the Metro.  As I was heading into town on this trip, overheard 2 guys talking about only having $5 and wanting to get something to eat. Recipe: Ahi Masago Poke - May 2012

Where do you get good poke in Southern California? If there is a place, I haven't found it yet. I'm really picky when it comes to poke, so I make my own. Having competed in the Sam Choy Poke Festival on the Big Island in 2003, I got to try all kinds and some with imitation crab and tofu. But, I prefer the simple kine, like in my Ahi Poke recipe.
