Astoria, Queens - Milkflower NYC

What's a trip to New York City without
having great pizza?

This trip, I wasn't in Manhattan much,
so it wasn't Ray's Pizza, Original Ray's, etc.

Since I was staying (and working) in Queens,
one place that was recommended was Milkflower in Astoria.

 Love wood-fired ovens
and places that know how to do
wood-fired pizzas.

See What Jay Eats...

String Bean Salad
with persimmon, feta, almonds, and citrus

This was a nice salad and something
I might have to knockoff...

Roasted Meatballs (3)
with tomato, garlic confit, grand padding, and basil.

You can't get meatballs like this in L.A.
AND a must order item!

Queen
with tomato, mozzarella, basil, parmigiana-reggiano

A great classic, just look at
that wood-fired crust.

Abe Froman
with pork sausage, tomato, shishito peppers,
red onion, oregano, garlic, and grana padano.
(ordered this one without cheese)

Abe Froman is "The Sausage King of Chicago"
from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Chardie Sheen
with Swiss chard, hen of the woods, speck,
green garlic, and young pecorino.

Spicy Soppressata
with tomato, mozzarella, parmigiana-reggiano,
and burnt honey.

I love the names of the pizzas,

I love wood-fired pizzas and this was
definitely a good pizza spot in Queens.
A place I would come back to again.
