GD Bro Burger in Santa Ana - Grand Opening!


GD Bro Burger finds parking in Santa Ana,
let me explain...

You may have recognized the name from Food Network's
(Season 6) 

They found a place to park the food truck
and opened their first brick and mortar in Santa Ana.

I was lucky to get a sneak peak
before their August 29, 2015, 
Grand Opening.


After walking in the door,
Patty Girth Matters!

Looking forward to a stuffed burger.

See What Jay Eats...
When my order arrived, I first noticed the 
raspberry bun on my burger.

Yes, it got my attention!


This is a Game Changer!


I started out with the Duck Fat Fries,
who wouldn't, right?

They have other sides,
see menu below.


 I went with the "Juan & Only" burger
with jalapeño cream cheese, pico de gallo, and
avocado chipotle mayo
on the raspberry bun.

This was a good burger, there was just enough
heat and the avocado was a nice touch.

This is the burger from the Food Network show,
come down and give it a try!

On my next visit, I want to try the KBBQ Poutine Burger. 


Sides and Drinks

I suggest one of the lemonades,
but I heard the milkshakes are great too...


The burger was juicy and flavorful.
The sides are creative and there
are a lot of burgers to try. 
I'm afraid that I'll have to sample them all!

Hidden Little Tokyo: Cheap Eats

I usually take the Metro Gold Line to Downtown Los Angeles.  Traffic is usually bad and then I have no idea where to park.  Although some of my friends who know I'm downtown a lot, think I know where all the places to park, this is why I take the Metro.  As I was heading into town on this trip, overheard 2 guys talking about only having $5 and wanting to get something to eat. I know there are places in Little Tokyo where you can get something to eat in the $5 range, here's what I've found: See What Jay Eats... Where do you get good poke in Southern California? If there is a place, I haven't found it yet. I'm really picky when it comes to poke, so I make my own. Having competed in the Sam Choy Poke Festival on the Big Island in 2003, I got to try all kinds and some with imitation crab and tofu. But, I prefer the simple kine, like in my Ahi Poke recipe.
