Picnic L.A. in Culver City

December in Los Angeles
is Picnic time!

Let me explain...

A new casual concept just opened in Culver City,
just steps from Sony Studios,
called Picnic LA.

This concept offers a menu
with an emphasis on seasonal vegetables,
composed salads, and well prepared proteins
in a casual 'picnic' manner.

You move down the line and select
your components, they're either
plated or packed for a picnic.

See What Jay Eats...

On this day, I chose the following:

Farro & Roasted Brussels Sprouts
with pickled shallots, peanuts, thai basil,
and mint.

Prosciutto & Fuyu Persimmons
with jalapeños

Chef Alex Resnick mentioned that
the menu depends on the availability
of fresh products.  Something that you
can taste in the food.

Toasted Barley & Butternut Squash
with sunflower seeds, harissa, and cilantro.
(vegan and slightly spicy)

Lots of vegan options here

Oil-Poached Salmon

Co-Founder, Eliot Silver, says
the proteins will change regularly
and the daily menu is available
on their website.

"Picnics on Demand" is available
for take-out and they have
a dedicated register in the back,
avoid the line at the door...

My Picnic LA lunch with
(cold pressed apple, lemon,
ginger, and cayenne)

Co-Founder, Eliot Silver, informed
us of their "Prix Fixe" Picnic Lunch.
You pick the components within
the sets.  See their website
for Prix Fixe combinations HERE

Other goodies I sampled

 Farmers' Market Crudite
with seasonal vegetables and served
with a buttermilk dip

Loved how this crudite
was displayed and served.

Roasted Beets

Always a favorite
and a good one here.

Dessert

They have a variety of desserts too.
Check their online menu
for the daily selection.

Everything served here can be packed
for a picnic.  Also, checkout their
'retail' picnic items.

This is a new concept that is an
upscale market-driven menu,
there's something for everyone.

I really liked how the
food is displayed
and served.
