Pink Taco Truck (New)

Image
You might have seen the Pink Taco Truck L.A. around town at various events. Not your typical taco truck, using local and farm-fresh ingredients. I was invited to the media preview at the Pink Taco restaurant on Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. They had their taco truck parked outside. Pink Taco Truck LA aka "The L.A. Woman" You probably remember the song, "L.A. Woman" by the Doors. Did I just show my age??? Tonight's Menu on the 32" monitor at the back of the truck With a lot of goodies to try, and since I'm a taco guy, it had to be a taco order. While waiting for my order, I got to sample the Watermelon aqua fresca. I'm ready to eat now. See What Jay Eats... My tacos were ready, so it was time to go inside the restaurant and try some Pink Taco Truck tacos. The Church Key in West Hollywood

Image
Photo Courtesy of The Church Key When my food partner in crime, Kristie Hang, asked me if I'd be interested in sampling The Church Key 's Summer menu, I didn't have to think twice.   Photo Courtesy of The Church Key  It's a very comfortable atmosphere, loved the telephone booth in the hallway with the rotary phone. (when was the last time you saw a rotary phone?) A very unique place with lots of cool items to look at while having a great meal. Pan Am beverage cart Loving the old skool airline carts! A frozen 'otter pop' style Purple Rain cocktail made with liquid nitrogen. On this night, Cosmopolitan and Sex on the Beach were the other options. A fun way to enjoy a cocktail Photo Courtesy of The Church Key Cocktails prepared table side, just look for the airline beverage cart and nitrogen attendant dressed as a flight attendant. Too bad they couldn't make these cocktails at 30k feet.....

Unfortunately this restaurant has closed. "A bottle of red, a bottle of white   It all depends upon your appetite I'll meet you any time you want In our Italian Restaurant" Scenes from an Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel *Photo by Al Bacio Ristorante Italiano My friend and fellow food blogger  @backyardbite invited me to an Italian cooking class by Chef Christian Simionato  at Al Bacio in West Hollywood.  Usually on Grammy day, I'm busy cooking at one of the after-parties.  But this year, wasn't feeling like making 1,200 servings of something and without hesitation gladly accepted Amy's invitation.   About a dozen of us arrived at the restaurant on Grammy Sunday around 11 am.  Chef Christian welcomed us and after putting on aprons, we all headed to the kitchen.   First up was dessert Chef Christian setting up the apple tart for the oven I can't believe how simple this apple tart recipe was ...
