A HOT Summer at Jack in the Box!

Thanks to a foodie friend who invited me, I tagged along to taste the new summer menu at  Jack in the Box .  I attend various menu tastings from time to time.  A side from the food, the part I like is to hear how the dish (or name) came about.  A lot of the dishes that I create have stories or how the combinations came to be, which also make great social media content. Tonight's Jack in the Box tasting menu Jack's Fruit Coolers - Mango Mayhem Mangoes mixed with lemon-lime sparkling soda. Not too sweet and a nice cooler.  They also have a Twisted Strawberry cooler and just as good as the Mango Mayhem. See What Jay Eats... Leading off tonight's tasting, BBQ Ultimate Cheeseburger  Two beef patties with American and Swiss-style cheeses, BBQ sauce, and grilled onions on a toasted sesame seed bun.  Who doesn't like a double cheeseburger? Growing up in Southern California, we'd see TV commercials with Los Angeles Ram Jack Youngblood eating a Double-Double (LA Rams, yes it was a long time ago).  There wasn't the Internet to look up where to find an In-n-Out Burger location, just the phone book, remember those?  BUT, I was fortunate to attend a high school that had an In-n-Out Burger down the street.  I have to say, after all of these years, In-n-Out Burger still tastes the SAME! The Original Replica of In-n-Out Burger in Baldwin Park, California (1954) Actually this is the second location, the first location is where the freeway overpass is now located. Having business in the area, I've driven by this Original location many times.  It was sad to see history torn down, but glad that they replaced it with a replica of the original 10 x 10 building. In October 1948, the first "Drive-Thru" in California opened.  Love the prices... The buildings ...
